My New Favorite Coffee

Last Friday I discovered an amazing new coffee by Nossa Familia Coffee. The Brazilian translation is "Our Family." To me coffee was just coffee, and most of my coffee drinking experiences involved the special holiday lattes at Starbucks. I had never tried Nossa Familia coffee before. When I drink coffee I usually have to add a lot of cream and other flavorings to make it palatable.

So at the urging of my friend to try this coffee without anything added I reluctantly agreed. I was totally amazed by the taste. I have to say this is the first cup of coffee that I have EVER sampled that I did not want to add anything to it, including creamer. The very next day I went to my local New Seasons grocery store and purchased my first bag of beans. The rest is history!

So a little more about Nossa Familia Coffee -- it is a Portland, Oregon-based roaster founded in 2004 by a Brazilian native Augusto Carneior. They also have one shop in LA. Their stated purpose and mission is to "...deliver delicious farm-direct coffee and create positive relationships locally and globally." Even better they have the distinction of being organic and B Corp certified, which means they meet the highest standards of overall social and environmental practices.

My favorite flavor of Nossa Familia's coffee -- at least for now (since this is the only flavor I have tried) -- is Camila's Organic, which boasts, "...rich chocolate body with sweet & floral undertones." What a great way to start my day! They have several other flavors that I will definitely be purchasing in the future, which includes:
